DoTM Driving License Examination Stages
Driving license examinations in Nepal consist of two compulsory parts: Written Exam (Likhit Pariksha) consisting of 20 multiple choice questions on road rules and traffic signs (pass mark 10 out of 20), and Practical Field Test (Trial) evaluated by traffic police and transport officers.
Trial Pass Certificate and Smart Card Dispatch
Upon passing both written and trial exams, applicants receive a temporary paper license (Revenue Receipt) upon paying the license fee. The printed Smart Driving License card is dispatched by DoTM once processed.
