Aamus Kawandi

“Aamu’s Kawandi” is a warm, visually rich children’s picture book about a little Siddi girl and the quilt she creates with her Ajji (grandmother). The story gently introduces young readers to the Siddi community, their history and everyday life, through vibrant artwork and simple, accessible language. As Aamu pieces together scraps of fabric, she also stitches memories, stories, and identity, helping children understand belonging, heritage, and self‑expression. Ideal for ages 5–9, the book works beautifully for read‑aloud sessions, classroom discussions on diversity, and parents seeking inclusive, culturally rooted stories.
