The novel 'illusion' is written in the beginning of the tradition of Nepali novel-writing. It is very popular due to narrative and language. Due to many specialties, this novel is also included in the course of the University of India and Nepal University. In the novel, it reflects the condition and character of Darjeeling society relations with migrants and their pain. नेपाली उपन्यास-लेखनपरम्पराको आरम्भकालमा लेखिएको उपन्यास ‘भ्रमर' कथाशिल्प र भाषाका कारण निकै प्रसिद्ध छ। अनेक विशिष्टताकै कारण यो उपन्यास भारत र नेपालका विश्वविद्यालयको पाठ्यक्रममा समेत समावेश छ। उपन्यासमा शताब्दीअघिको नेपालीभाषी दार्जीलिङको समाजको अवस्था र चरित्र प्रतिबिम्बन छ । टुटाउन नसकेको नेपालीहरूसँगको सम्बन्ध र प्रवासिनुपर्दाको पीडा छ। समालोचक सूर्यविक्रम ज्ञवालीका शब्दमा ‘रुपनारायण सिंहको शैली चित्ताकर्षक र पाठकको मनमा प्रभाव पार्ने खालको छ ।'
