Dear Zoo A Lift The Flap Picture Book

Dear Zoo is Rod Campbell’s much-loved interactive picture book for babies and toddlers. A child writes to the zoo asking for a pet, and the zoo sends a series of surprising animals: a monkey, lion, elephant, snake, and more. Each animal is not quite suitable—too big, too fierce, too jumpy, or too scary—until the perfect pet finally arrives. Every page features a sturdy flap for young readers to lift, turning the simple story into a game of discovery and prediction. Its bright, bold illustrations, repeated phrases, animal vocabulary, and satisfying final reveal make it ideal for shared reading, early language development, and small hands. First published in 1982, Dear Zoo remains a preschool classic loved by generations of families.
