Glimpses of Buddhist Legacy

Glimpses of Buddhist Legacy in Orissa by Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty, one of my more serious students, is an excellent compilation of the facts gleaned from historical and archaeological sources. It embodies the latest findings from recent and, in some cases, the ongoing excavations of the Buddhist sites in Orissa. The book's plea for planned, systematic and thorough exploration and excavation of the Buddhist sites deserves serious attention of scholars and researchers, so as to enable posterity to have a thorough and evidence-based knowledge of the Buddhist past of Orissa. These two aspect add to the uniqueness of this wonderful compilation. Another important contribution of this book is the thorough and comprehensive information about the Buddhist sites for the common man and the tourist alike
