Jojo The Orangutan

Jo-Jo the Orangutan: Illustrated Picture Book for Children tells the story of a young orangutan taken from his mother and forest home into a city. Remembering the green rainforest and his mother’s comfort, Jo-Jo longs to return home until a compassionate woman rescues him. The book is based on a real-life 2008 rescue in Indonesia, when veterinarian Karmele Llano rescued an orangutan named Jo-Jo after he had been kept chained in a village for about ten years. The story introduces young readers to empathy for animals, rainforest protection, and wildlife conservation. The English paperback edition is published by Wonder House Books, contains 32 pages, has ISBN 9789354404696, and is recommended for children aged 3–6.
