Miaun Says The Little Kitty

The original name of this famous author, known in the literary circle, as "Ramesh Vikal" is Rameshwor Sharma Chalise. He was born on Kartik 29, 1985 BS (November 14, 1928 AD) at Arubari, Gokarna within Kathmandu district as the son of Chandra Sekhar Chalise and Chhaya Devi Chalise. He has been dovoting his time to literary creation for more than half a century. He has written novels for adolescents as well. He has contributed more than twelve books to children's literature. His published works include Agenako Dilma (2023 BS/ 1966 AD), Panchatantraka Kathaharu (2023 BS/1966 AD), Ekkais Ramaila Katha (2024 BS/1967 AD), Kathakusum (2036 BS/ 1979 AD), Terha Ramaila Katha (Reprinted 2048 BS/ 1991 AD), Kehi Murkhaharuko Katha (2045 BS/1988 AD), Hiunde Chhutti (2049 BS/1992 AD), Sangat Gunako Buddhi (2057 BS/1999 AD), Euta Katha Bhannu Na Hajur Ama (2061 BS/2004 AD), and Ramesh Vikalka Utkrishtha Baal Katha Haru (2063 BS/2006 AD). Saat Thunga (2037 BS/ 1980 AD), and Aba Timi Narou Kiran (2059 BS/2001 AD), are his plays for children. He has written a novel for adolescents: Bikram ra Noulo Graha (2039 BS/1982 AD), and a picture story, Manchhe, Bhainsi ra Muri Chamalko Bhhat (2057 BS/1999 AD). Ma ra Mero Ghar, (2043 BS/1986 AD), Ma ra Mero Chhimek (Reprinted 2043 BS/1986 AD) and Gounthaliko Ghar (2052 BS/1995 AD) are his three books containing a single story each. Among all these works by Vikal, Angenako Dilma, Panchatantraka Kathaharum Ekkaish Ramila Katha and Katha Kusum are not available presently. Vikal has been equally viable to both adults' and children's literature. Fo adults, he has contributed his creations in a variety of genres like stor novel, plays and travelogues. His devotion to children's literature has bee equally praiseworthy, which is a highly commendable trait in the writer.
