My Friends

“My Friends” by Fredrik Backman is a sweeping contemporary novel that weaves together a teenage summer on a seaside pier and a present‑day journey sparked by a famous painting. Following four misfit friends in their youth and a young artist, Louisa, decades later, the book explores grief, found family, art, and the long‑lasting impact of the bonds we form. This makes it a strong match for queries like “Fredrik Backman new novel,” “books about friendship and art,” and “emotional contemporary fiction about grief.”
