Peking To Lhasa

This is an astonishing traveler's tale, a tale of obsessive passion, a tale that takes us on several long journeys across China and Tibe. Brigadier General George Pereira made these journeys before 1925, when much of Tibet was closed to foreign travelers and explorers. That he was able to reach the fabled and long forbidden city of Lhasa is a tribute to his patience, diplomacy and indeed his courage in the face of such adversity.
