The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the second book in the story’s chronological order of The Chronicles of Narnia, though it was the first Narnia novel C. S. Lewis wrote and published, in 1950. It follows siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie, who are evacuated from wartime London and discover a magical land through an old wardrobe. In Narnia, the children find a world of talking animals and mythical creatures trapped in an endless winter under the White Witch. Guided by the great lion Aslan, they become part of a prophecy to free Narnia, while Edmund’s betrayal tests their courage, loyalty, and forgiveness.
