The Merchant Of Venice Pocket Classics

The Merchant of Venice is William Shakespeare’s complex comedy of friendship, love, money, justice, and mercy. To help Bassanio court the heiress Portia, merchant Antonio guarantees a loan from Shylock with a dangerous bond: failure to repay means forfeiting a pound of flesh. When Antonio cannot pay, Portia disguises herself as a lawyer and turns the trial through a brilliant interpretation of the contract. The Pocket Classics edition by Fingerprint presents the complete play in a compact, portable format.
