The Mubbles: The Good, the Bad and the Perky is the third full-colour graphic novel in Liz Pichon’s comic series for younger readers. Set on the sunny, joy-powered Isle of Smile, it follows the Mubbles—Bash, Dash, Cheery, and their friends—who are always ready to enjoy whatever strange surprise emerges from the mysterious Uncertain Curtain. This time, the curtain produces a karaoke machine, inspiring a burst of singing and silliness across the island. But the gloomy Doomongers from the neighbouring Isle of Gloom want to stop the music and spoil the fun. The story’s central conflict turns a simple karaoke session into a cheerful adventure about staying positive, working together, and defending the right to sing—even when others disapprove. Written and illustrated by Liz Pichon, the book was published by Macmillan Children’s Books on 12 March 2026. It is a 128-page illustrated comic designed for children aged roughly 6–8, with short text, expressive panels, visual jokes, and a QR code linking to supplementary Mubbles content such as songs and craft activities. It can be enjoyed on its own, though readers who begin with the earlier books will already know the characters and world.
