Who Is The Dalai Lama

“Who Is the Dalai Lama?” is a short, accessible biography that introduces young readers to Lhamo Thondup, the boy who was recognized as the 14th Dalai Lama and became Tibet’s spiritual and political leader. It traces his journey from a rural childhood through his recognition, leadership during China’s takeover of Tibet, dramatic escape to exile in India and decades of nonviolent work for Tibetan autonomy and global peace, including his Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
