Alain Badiou

Alain Badiou is a French philosopher and former professor at the École Normale Supérieure, one of the most provocative and systematic thinkers of his generation. Works such as The Agony of Eros are among his reflections on love, truth and the conditions of philosophy itself.

Badiou is known for an ambitious project to renew philosophy through mathematics and through radical politics, announced in Being and Event and developed across dozens of books. His analyses of art, sexuality and revolution make him essential reading in contemporary theory.
