Alan Jacobs

Alan Jacobs is a Canadian-born scholar of religion who has devoted his work to the life and teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi, one of modern India's most beloved spiritual masters. His books present the Maharshi's message of self-inquiry and the simple practice of asking Who am I? with remarkable clarity.

A long-time teacher at Ramana Maharshi's ashram, Tiruvannamalai, Jacobs has written extensively on Advaita and has been part of classic documentary work on the sage. His writings are valued for combining deep scholarship with the lived experience of the tradition.
