Alex Deane

Alex Deane is a British conservative commentator, media figure and advocate who writes on history and politics. His book Lessons From History gathers a wide set of neglected stories and the practical wisdom they carry for modern leaders, drawn mostly from the period of the British empire and its aftermath.

A skilled communicator who has served in Parliament's back benches as a foot soldier of the Conservative Party and a commentator on major networks, Deane curates the important histories publics forget. His books combine anecdote, moral argument and accessible conservative thought about how nations govern themselves well.
