Amal Kiran

Amal Kiran (1904–1988), whose given name was K.D. Sethna, was an Indian poet, philosopher and critic, and a senior disciple of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother at their ashram in Pondicherry. He wrote extensively on Aurobindo's integral yoga, on mysticism and on art, and published many volumes of poetry and literary criticism under the pen name Amal Kiran.

A student of English literature and economics, Sethna became one of the most versatile writers of the Sri Aurobindo circle, producing thousands of pages of letters and verse. His work — including the poetry collection Our Light and Delight — is treasured by students of the Aurobindo tradition.
