Amish Tripathi

Amish Tripathi is an Indian author who transformed the popular fiction landscape with his Shivia Trilogy beginning with The Immortals of Meluha, which launched the idea of mythology-based commercial bestsellers. His later historical novel Legend of Suheldev, set in the early medieval period, and works like Idols continuing his exploration of faith and heroism have sold in the millions.

A former banker from the Indian Institute of Management, Tripathi left finance after the success of his first novel. He has become possibly India's most-read living storyteller, and his work — blending research, theology and action — is credited with starting a new genre of Indian mythological fiction that swept the book market.
