Ananyo Bhattacharya

Ananyo Bhattacharya is a British science writer and former researcher at the University of Cambridge and the Francis Crick Institute. His acclaimed biography The Man from the Future — shortlisted for several prizes — tells the story of the mathematician John von Neumann, showing how his ideas about computing, games and self-reproducing machines predicted the modern world.

Bhattacharya wrote for The Economist and other major outlets, where he covered the physical and life sciences. Blending scientific biography, history of ideas and clear technical exposition, his book has been celebrated as the definitive modern portrait of von Neumann, "the man from the future" who helped design the computer age.
