András Tilcsik
András Tilcsik
András Tilcsik is a Hungarian economist and management scholar, professor of strategic management at the University of Toronto's Rotman School. His book Meltdown, co-authored with the then-dean Roger Martin, examines why organizations fail catastrophically — from the collapse of firms to the disasters of institutions — through failed analogies and patterned thinking.
Tilcsik's research applies the psychology of group decision-making to organizational design, and his writing codifies how leaders can spot the misleading analogies that precede breakdowns. A co-author of the acclaimed book on institutional collapse, he is considered a leading voice on "organizational accidents" and resilience.
