Andrew Bruce

Andrew Bruce is an American statistician and consultant who has worked for decades in applied statistics for research and business. He is the principal author, with Peter Gedeck, of Practical Statistics for Data Scientists, the widely used intermediate text that bridges classical statistics and the modern data-science toolbox from the perspective of R and Python.

Bruce earned his doctorate in statistics from Stanford and founded a statistical consulting practice. His book is a standard reading-list item in data-science bootcamps, prized for skipping programming trivia in favour of the concepts — sampling, distributions, regression, resampling — that actually matter in practice.
