Aniela Jaffé

Aniela Jaffé (1903–1991) was a Swiss-born analytical psychologist and close collaborator of C.G. Jung, serving for decades as his secretary and as a member of the inner circle of the Zurich school. Her memoir-journey Jung's Life and Work — composed from her conversations and records — is one of the most direct portraits of the great analyst ever published.

Jaffé edited a vast correspondence and participated in many of the recorded interviews of Jung's last years. Her account combines intimate biography with the history of the ideas, and her work on the divergence between Jung's public and private life remains essential to Jung studies.
