Anindita Ghose

Anindita Ghose is an Indian author and former editor-in-chief of Vogue India, whose journalism has covered culture and ideas for two decades. Her novel The Illuminated explores the lives of two women across a generation — a professor and her millennial daughter — and the freedoms each must claim in modern India.

Ghose turned to literary fiction after a career at the summits of magazine and broadcast journalism. Her debut won praise for its elegant construction and full-blooded female characters, was shortlisted for several prizes, and marked the arrival of a distinctive new voice in Indian English fiction.
