Anirban Mahapatra

Anirban Mahapatra is an Indian travel and culture writer who has contributed to the Lonely Planet series. He is a long-term lead author for the Lonely Planet Bangladesh guides, having spent years on the country's ferries, markets and riverbanks to write one of the only serious English guides to the delta nation.

His practical, warm and historically alert itineraries made Bangladesh manageable and attractive to a new generation of travellers, and he remains a recognised authority on the region's travel literature.
