Anita Krishan
Anita Krishan is an Indian geologist and science writer, a former professor of geology at the Panjab University, who has devoted part of her career to popular science and science fiction in Hindi and English. Her books Ghosts of the Silent Hills examine the geology and myth of the Himalayas, and Ghosts in the Dark Silence bring solid-science evidence to the debate on the Tethy, the "ghost" continent of the sea of Tibet.
Krishan is known for combining rigorous geophysics with storytelling to explain mountains, climate and world-formation to lay readers. Her attention to the "Himalayan specimen" made her an influential voice of Indian popular geoscience, and she has received awards for promoting science among the common reader.
