Ankit Babu Adhikari

Ankit Babu Adhikari is a Nepali journalist and author based between the UK and Nepal. He is the co-author of Sherpa, the acclaimed book that explores the mountaineering-culture system that pairs Western climbers with high-altitude guides, and it recounts the 2014 Khumbu disaster through the lives of the sherpas.

Adhikari has reported for major outlets on the economy, migration and the Himalaya, and helped document the changing role of the sherpa from unnamed porter to global brand. His book, praised for combining reporting with deep empathy, reframed how Everest is written about — from the summit to the base camp's carriers.
