The Gruffalo A Push Pull and Slide Book

The Gruffalo A Push Pull and Slide Book

The Gruffalo: A Push, Pull and Slide Book is an interactive board-book adaptation of the much-loved picture-book classic The Gruffalo. It retells the story in a short, simple rhyming format for very young children: a quick-thinking mouse walks through the deep dark wood, encounters a fox, an owl, and a snake, and invents a terrifying creature called the Gruffalo to keep them away. But the mouse’s imagined monster unexpectedly turns out to be real. Each spread includes a sturdy moving mechanism that children can push, pull, or slide to animate scenes and characters from the story. The format encourages toddlers and preschoolers to participate physically while listening to the rhyme, supporting early language development, fine-motor coordination, cause-and-effect learning, and familiarity with narrative sequence. The 10-page board-book edition was published by Macmillan Children’s Books on 1 February 2024; it is based on the original The Gruffalo, first published in 1999.
