How it works

1

Upload an image (poster, chart or screenshot).

2

Pick protanopia, deuteranopia or tritanopia.

3

Compare the simulated view against the original.

Why use this tool?

  • The image is processed locally with SVG colour-matrix filters - it never leaves your device.

  • Deuteranopia is the most common type, affecting about 1 in 12 men.

  • Use it to check charts, maps and UI contrast before you publish.

  • The simulation is an approximation of how colours shift, not a medical view.

Frequently asked questions

Which types are included?

The three most common forms: protanopia (red-blind), deuteranopia (green-blind) and tritanopia (blue-blind).

Is my image uploaded?

No - the file is read in your browser and filtered with SVG; nothing is sent to a server.

Can I download the simulated image?

This preview uses a CSS filter for speed. To export, screenshot the simulated panel - a full export is not built in.

How accurate is the simulation?

It uses the standard colour-modelling matrices, which are a good approximation but not a perfect match for any individual’s vision.
