How to download a TikTok video
In the TikTok app tap the share arrow and choose 'Copy link' (on desktop, copy the address-bar URL). Paste it above and press Get video. You will usually get three versions: HD with no watermark, standard with no watermark, and the original file with TikTok's moving username tag.
What no-watermark really means
TikTok stamps every in-app save with a bouncing @username overlay. The no-watermark versions here are the clean source files before that overlay is burned in - ideal when you are collecting clips for a class project, a news roundup, or studying editing styles. Keep the creator's name in your caption either way.
Short links and photo posts
vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com short links work exactly like full URLs - paste whatever the share sheet gave you. Videos-only is the rule though: pure photo carousels have no MP4 to fetch, and private or followers-only accounts cannot be read at all.
HD vs standard vs original
HD (when available) keeps the uploader’s full bitrate up to 1080p - best for re-editing or projecting. Standard is the everyday ~720p stream that plays fast even on weak mobile data. The watermarked original matches what you would get saving inside the TikTok app itself.
Use downloads fairly
TikTok clips belong to their creators. Saving for personal viewing, study or fair commentary is generally fine; reposting to your own account - especially removing the watermark to hide the source - can breach both copyright and platform rules.
