How it works

It reads og:title, og:description, og:image and twitter:card from the live page.
The page is fetched through a public CORS proxy, so an internet connection is needed.
If a tag is missing, the platforms fall back to the page <title> and first text - which often looks worse.
Use it before campaigns to make sure links look right when shared.

Why does my link show no image?

The page is missing an og:image tag (or it is not an absolute URL). Add one and the share card will show a thumbnail.

Is this exactly what Facebook shows?

It shows the tags Facebook reads. Facebook also caches previews, so use its Sharing Debugger to refresh a link you already posted.

Does it need a proxy?

Yes - browsers block reading another site’s HTML directly (CORS), so the tool uses a public proxy to fetch the page.

Will it work for any URL?

It works for public pages that return HTML with meta tags. Password-protected or JS-only pages may not resolve.
