How it works

1

Type the domain (e.g. example.com).

2

Press Lookup to query RDAP.

3

Read the registrar, key dates and status flags.

Why use this tool?

  • RDAP is the JSON-based replacement for the old WHOIS protocol, and works from a browser.

  • You can see registration, expiry and last-changed dates plus registrar status codes.

  • It needs an internet connection; some registrars redact contact details by policy.

  • Use it to check domain availability history, expiry and ownership signals.

Frequently asked questions

What is RDAP?

Registration Data Access Protocol - the standards-based, JSON successor to WHOIS. This tool queries public RDAP servers directly from your browser.

Why no registrant name or email?

Privacy rules (like GDPR) mean many registrars now redact personal contact data, so RDAP often returns only the registrar and dates.

Can I look up .np domains?

RDAP coverage varies by registry; if Nepal’s registry does not publish RDAP, the lookup may not return data.

Is this official?

It reflects the registry’s published RDAP record. For legal proof of ownership, consult the official registrar.
