Does this calculator work with the Nepali Bikram Sambat calendar?

No - it uses the Gregorian (AD) calendar that appears on passports and most official forms. If you only know your birthday in BS, use our BS to AD date converter first, then enter the converted AD date here. The result will then be accurate for any Nepali document check.

Can I find my age as of a past or future date?

Yes. The "as of" field is not fixed to today. Set it to a past date to see how old you were on that day, or a future date to check whether you will have reached a required age, for example 18 years, by a specific application deadline.

Why do different official documents sometimes show a different age?

Some Nepali records store only the birth year, use a BS year, or round up to the nearest year, so the same person can appear a year older or younger across documents. This tool counts exact years, months and days from a full date of birth, which is the most precise figure to compare against a stated cut-off.

Is my date of birth saved or sent anywhere?

How are total months, weeks and days counted?

They are simple totals since your date of birth: total months is years multiplied by 12 plus the remaining months, total days is the raw day count with months and years converted, and total weeks divides that by 7. These are useful when age is expressed in months rather than years for medical or legal contexts.
