A full scientific calculator in your browser

This calculator handles everything a SEE or +2 science student meets: trigonometry with degree or radian modes, natural and base-10 logarithms, square and cube roots, powers, exponentials, absolute values, hyperbolic functions, and factorials up to 170!. Type expressions naturally - 2π(45+5) or sin(30)+cos(60) both just work - and see the answer update before you even press equals.

Type it like you write it

Unlike phone calculators that force one operation at a time, this one accepts whole expressions. Implicit multiplication is understood, so 2(3+4) means 14 and 5π means 15.708. Use the keyboard directly - digits, operators, brackets, Enter for equals, Backspace to fix a typo, Escape to clear everything.

Degrees versus radians

The DEG/RAD switch controls all trigonometric functions. Nepali school exams work in degrees - sin(30) is exactly 0.5 - while university physics and programming typically use radians, where sin(π/2) equals 1. Check the indicator above the keypad before starting a problem set; mixing modes silently is the classic source of wrong trig answers.

Memory keys and the last answer

MS stores the current result, M+ adds to it, MR recalls it into your expression, and MC wipes it - handy for multi-part problems where one intermediate value keeps reappearing. The Ans key inserts the previous result into a new calculation, so you can chain steps like finding compound interest year by year without retyping long decimals.

The history tape

Every time you press equals, the calculation joins the tape on the right. Tap any past result to drop it into the current expression. Students checking homework can retrace their steps line by line, and comparing two approaches side by side beats scrolling through a phone's single-line display.

Precision you can trust

Results are computed with IEEE-754 double precision - the same standard as professional engineering software - then trimmed to 12 significant digits so 0.1+0.2 shows a clean 0.3 instead of floating-point dust. Very large and very small answers switch to scientific notation automatically.

What is a scientific calculator, and how does this free Nepal tool work?

A scientific calculator handles powers, roots, logarithms, trigonometry and factorials beyond basic arithmetic. Scolar’s Scientific Calculator is free and browser-only: type an expression with the scientific keys, use brackets and history, and read the result. No sign-up, no watermark, nothing uploaded.

Why it is free, with no sign-up and unlimited use

The calculation runs on your device, so nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. That keeps the tool 100% free, adds no watermark, asks for no email, and lets you calculate unlimited expressions.

How to use it, step by step

  • Type your expression using the scientific keys (powers, roots, log, trig).
  • Use brackets and the history to check earlier steps.
  • Read the result instantly — nothing is uploaded.

For students across Nepal

From +2 and engineering colleges to Loksewa prep, a reliable scientific calculator is essential. This one works offline after loading, so students can use it in classrooms and libraries without internet or a physical calculator.

“A Nepali student should not buy a calculator app just for logs and powers. Open this, calculate, free.”

How it works

1

Type a whole expression or tap the keys - the live preview updates instantly.

2

Switch DEG/RAD for trig functions, and use M+/MR for repeated values.

3

Press = to commit; every result lands in the clickable history tape.

Why use this tool?

  • Understands implicit multiplication: 2π(3+1) evaluates without extra operators.

  • DEG/RAD toggle guards against the classic silent trig-mode mistake.

  • IEEE-754 double precision with 12 significant digits - engineering-grade accuracy.

Frequently asked questions

Is this scientific calculator free?

Completely free with no ads, no signup, and no usage limits - it runs entirely in your browser.

How do I switch between degrees and radians?

Use the DEG/RAD toggle above the keypad. Trigonometric functions interpret inputs according to the selected mode.

Can I type expressions with the keyboard?

Yes - type directly into the display, press Enter to evaluate, Backspace to delete, and Escape to clear.

What does the Ans button do?

It inserts the result of your last calculation into the current expression, letting you chain calculations without retyping values.

How precise are the results?

Calculations use IEEE-754 double precision and results are shown to 12 significant digits, matching professional engineering tools.
