Network Info

Your public IP, ISP, connection quality and complete device profile - gathered locally in seconds.

Your public IP

What is a public IP address?

Every device talking to the internet is identified by an IP address assigned by your internet provider - WorldLink, NTC Fibre, Vianet, DishHome and so on in Nepal. Websites see this address on every request you make. Knowing it helps when configuring port forwarding, whitelisting office IPs on a bank portal, reporting issues to your ISP, or testing whether your VPN actually changed your route.

Why your ISP and location show up

IP addresses are handed out in blocks, so public registries map each block to the provider and rough area that uses it. That is how this tool shows your ISP and city without asking you anything. Note the accuracy limits: the location reflects where the provider registered the block - often the nearest big city like Kathmandu - not your exact street, and mobile data IPs can appear hundreds of kilometres away.

Understanding connection quality

Your browser reports an effective connection class (like 4g), a downlink estimate in megabits, and typical round-trip time in milliseconds, derived from recent page-load performance. These are heuristics rather than speed-test results, but they are instant and useful: high RTT explains laggy video calls, while Data Saver being on explains blurry images on metered mobile plans.

Device details developers care about

The screen section reports resolution, viewport size, and device pixel ratio - the trio that decides whether your CSS media queries fire and images look sharp on retina displays. CPU thread count and memory hints help you judge what hardware your users actually have, which matters when optimising sites for budget Android phones common across Nepal.

Privacy: what this page does and does not collect

Everything except the public-IP line is read directly from your own browser and never leaves your device. Showing your external IP requires one request to an independent lookup service (ipwho.is); that service sees your IP by definition of any internet request, but this page stores nothing, logs nothing, and keeps no history. Refresh and it is gone.

Common troubleshooting recipes

VPN check: load this page before and after connecting - the IP, ISP and country should change. CGNAT suspicion: if your IPv4 starts with 100.64-100.127, your provider uses carrier-grade NAT, which breaks hosting and some games. DNS issues: if pages resolve slowly but this page loads fast, try switching to public resolvers like 1.1.1.1 or Nepal's own DNS offerings.

What is a network-info tool, and how does this free Nepal tool work?

A network-info tool shows your public IP address, ISP, location and browser details. Scolar’s tool runs in your browser: open the page and read your connection summary. No sign-up, no watermark, nothing unnecessary is stored.

Why it is free, with no sign-up and unlimited use

The lookup runs through your browser and shows only what your connection exposes; no account is needed. That keeps it 100% free with unlimited checks and no watermark.

How to use this tool, step by step

  • Open the tool; it reads your connection details.
  • Review your public IP, ISP and approximate location.
  • Copy any field you need; no data is uploaded.

Network checks in Nepal

Freelancers in Kathmandu confirming their public IP for client whitelists, students learning networking, and support staff diagnosing connectivity all check network info often. Seeing it locally avoids sharing details with unknown sites.

“A Nepali freelancer should not pay for an app just to see their IP and ISP. Open the page, read it — free.”

How it works

1

The page reads your device details instantly - nothing is uploaded.

2

Your public IP and ISP are looked up once from an independent service.

3

Press Refresh to re-check after switching Wi-Fi, VPN, or mobile data.

Why use this tool?

  • Shows IP, ISP, ASN, city-level location plus live connection quality estimates.

  • Device panel covers screen, viewport, pixel ratio, CPU threads and memory.

  • Nothing is stored or logged - refresh the page and every detail disappears.

Frequently asked questions

Is my IP address stored by this tool?

No. The IP is fetched from a third-party lookup service purely to display it, and nothing is logged or saved by this page.

Why does my location show the wrong city?

IP geolocation maps provider blocks to their registration area, often the nearest major city. Mobile networks frequently register far from where you actually are.

How accurate is the downlink estimate?

It is a heuristic from recent browsing performance, useful for spotting problems - not a substitute for a proper speed test.

Can I use this to check my VPN?

Yes. Load the page before and after connecting: the IP, ISP, and country should change to your VPN exit point.

What does an IP starting with 100.64 mean?

You are behind carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT): your provider shares one public IPv4 among many customers, which blocks self-hosting and some game connections.
